At Persona, we're incredibly proud of our amazing team. We think they're smart, funny, and kind, and we're sure you'll think the same. That's why we started this blog series to help you get to know the people behind Persona.
Today, meet Lauren, our events and brand lead who enjoys skiing, watching Formula 1 races, and collecting disco balls. She walks through a typical day at Persona, shares her favorite Slack channel, and more in this Q&A:
What does your typical day look like at Persona?
Generally, I split my day between working with external vendors or partners (negotiation, legal, logistics, etc.) and internal teams. I may be managing an external team for different conferences while integrating my projects with an internal workflow touching different departments. Every day, you’ll find me on the phone and on video calls, keeping up with Slack, and often being a thorn in the side of revenue operations or finance. :)
While events may seem execution and detail-oriented, I also spend a lot of time ensuring events align with Persona’s business strategy and weaving separate concepts together into our brand narrative.
Why did you choose Persona?
Persona reached out to me when I was not actively looking for a new role. After talking to more people at Persona, I was intrigued. As a brand and marketing professional, I have seen instances of company marketing outpacing product. At Persona, the product is definitely there and marketing has room to grow. That made Persona an interesting opportunity for me.
The people I met with were so effortlessly kind and invested with what they did at the company. It left an impact on me — one that I couldn’t ignore.
Tell us one thing that people may not know about you.
Formula 1 is a big interest of mine. I love going to races. I just went to the race in Montreal! (#TeamLH). I am also a big skier — feel free to ask me why I have five disco balls in my apartment.
Who is someone you look up to or admire at Persona and why?
I appreciate Jeff Sakasegawa, our trust and safety architect. He joined a bit after I did and it was great to see him immediately jump in and share his knowledge with the team and become our go-to speaker for many events. Having him on our team felt like a missing piece for our conferences — like our event strategy had finally been filled.
Jeff has helped me get up to speed with the players in identity, and he is always willing to help me figure stuff out. He is genuinely a great person to work with.
What is your favorite Persona Slack channel and why?
My favorite Slack channel is #vroom-vroom, which is our Formula 1 Slack channel. It’s super exciting during race weeks. I love seeing the different memes and hearing Personerds’ opinions on the racing world.
Stay tuned as we continue featuring more Personerds in this ongoing series!
