At Persona, we're incredibly proud of our amazing team. We think they're smart, funny, and kind, and we're sure you'll think the same. That's why we started this blog series to help you get to know the people behind Persona.
Today, meet Khadija, a member of our customer experience team who loves plants, solving problems, and hot pot (stay tuned for her favorite spot!). She shares what her days look like, her personal mantra, and more in this Q&A:
What does your typical day look like at Persona?
I am on the customer experience (CX) team, so the first thing I do when I log in is check my emails. Then, I go into Zendesk and review tickets in my queue that need my attention. After that, I look at pending Jira tickets and see if I can make any updates to them. Additionally, I go through the unassigned queue from the night before and pick the ones I want to look at.
Outside of that, I grab lunch and attend team meetings, discussing any pending updates and other callouts. On Tuesdays, we do a weekly review of the tickets we’ve received. Throughout the day, I keep in touch with team members about tickets I am working on, using several internal Slack channels to communicate with others.
Why did you choose Persona?
I knew I wanted the opportunity to grow with an organization, starting from a few people on a CX team to a flushed out department. I enjoy solving problems, and here at Persona, there are always different ones each day. There is a lot of collaboration involved, too, and it makes me feel confident about the success of Persona.
Tell us one thing that people may not know about you.
I play two instruments: piano and clarinet!
Do you have a personal mantra or perhaps motto that you try to follow? If so, what is it?
Every project takes time and patience. Always try to get a little closer to your goals than you were yesterday!
Who is someone you look up to or admire at Persona and why?
I really admire Amanda and Shirsha because they started the CX team from nothing. They built out a lot of documentation and the processes to train new members as well as customers. The level of commitment they put into everything will pay off as our team continues to expand. I love the collaborative spirit between them, too.
What advice would you give people who are currently job searching?
Definitely take advantage of existing relationships with former coworkers and mentors. This is the best way to learn about organizations that are currently hiring. Also, don’t forget to ask for referrals!
In the next five years, what are you looking forward to the most at Persona?
I’m really looking forward to seeing the teams grow as we take on more customers. I’m also interested in seeing different use cases for our product and how we can better support them!
What is your favorite Persona Slack channel and why?
I like #plant-parenthood — that’s where I go to decompress.
What's your favorite restaurant?
Definitely Urban Hotpot in Fairfax, VA for all-you-can-eat hot pot! They have a 90 minute policy, so make sure you eat fast. 🙂
Stay tuned as we continue featuring more Personerds in this ongoing series!
