At Persona, we're incredibly proud of our amazing team. We think they're smart, funny, and kind, and we're sure you'll think the same. That's why we started this blog series to help you get to know the people behind Persona.
Today, meet Etra, our business talent lead and unofficial Jeopardy host whenever we hold trivia competitions. Learn more about what her typical day looks like, her favorite Persona memory so far, and more in this interview:
What does your typical day look like at Persona?
Every day is different! Starting with a big cup of coffee, I tackle the emails in my inbox and try to get them down to zero. Then, I usually hop on the phone with candidates at various stages in the process and meet with hiring managers to discuss their in-flight candidates, overall process, and feedback.
Why did you choose Persona?
There are a lot of reasons I joined Persona, but the first one was the people. I was deeply impressed with everyone I met, and I was so excited at the opportunity to work with them. I loved the stage that Persona was at, and I enjoy building as a part of my work.
Tell us one thing that people may not know about you.
I have yet to learn how to ride a bike, even though I went to college in the most bike-friendly city in the world.
What has been your favorite memory at Persona so far?
My favorite memory since I joined was the first day the entire Talent team was in the office together. It was so wonderful getting to spend time together collaborating and working together in person! We did an escape room as a team, and even though we didn’t make it out in time, we had so much fun and we’ll get it next time!
Who is someone you look up to or admire at Persona and why?
I really admire Natalie, our head of talent. I’ve learned so much from her in the short time we’ve worked together. She’s such an empathetic leader and a supremely talented recruiter. Natalie deeply cares about our team, and this is reflected in our processes.
What is your favorite Personerds Slack channel and why?
I started the #vroom-vroom channel a few weeks after I joined because I love Formula 1 and did not know many people who also followed the sport. Now, this channel has grown to almost 20 people and we have a watch party planned for a race this year!
What's your favorite restaurant, and what dish would you recommend to someone who has never been?
My favorite place for brunch is Zazie’s — they’re tip-free, which creates a very home-y experience. Plus, all of their eggs benedicts are delicious!
Stay tuned as we continue featuring more Personerds in this ongoing series!
